This quote was in a magazine i was recently reading unfortunately i am remiss as to
the person who said it .... anyway if one is to define the indefinable then this says it .

this concept is a wonderfull and usefull way for libraries
to communicate, i can imagine using it to share diffrent ways of doiing
things amongst the branches and beyond . i 'm especially thinking about some of
the things we use the weekly memo for such as tips on software,
shortcuts etc... it has potential.

virtual global village

hello all: i have reached another milestone better late than never
and it feels a bit strange being in this virtual world. i am looking
forward to discovering more about it. there are some really creative
people out there too.... more to come.

further along the pathway

It has been tough going there for a while because here at my branch
a lot of new changes have been taking place which made it a little difficult
to find the time to invest in these lessons but once i continued it was not
that difficult. the whole blogline concept is kind of interesting, it seems it
is directed to peole who visit a lot of websites on a regular basis as far as i
am concerned i might use it to get feeds from news agencies if only to avoid
all the useless and distracting and frustrating advertising that inherent.
there are a few things that i have not tried the "clippings" and the "playlist"
field, i will post about what i find out later... one of sites i found that is interesting
is the "from here to there : a look at international libraries " website which connects
us to a larger global community.

It is remarkable how technology has and continues to
affect our lives, as we are now able to communicate with
vast numbers of people and learn a myriad of things. It also
is exanding and changing the face of education with thrilling
possiblities to expand our minds and help us live a better life.
This exiting tool can also be misused like anytool and instead of
being helpfull can be a hinderance.
In summary technology is a neutral tool that offers pathways of
knowledge, communication education and sharing which can lead
to great new adventures.
